During my trip I'm hoping to avoid the internet unless it is absolutely necessary. And yes, updating and tracking my fantasy baseball team qualifies as "absolutely necessary". Oddly enough, updating this little blog doesn't make the cut.
In deference to my readers, I want to leave behind a few enjoyable nuggets to digest while I'm on sabbatical. I don't want anyone to get bored.
1) Listen to the latest edition of the always excellent Mad Decent Worldwide Radio podcast.
Diplo and friends' latest installment highlights the incredible hyphy scene that has been blowing up the San Francisco Bay Area for the past few years. Things like this make me miss Oakland.
2) Take a look at Villa Diamante's new blog Muy Bastard.
Buenos Aires' mash-up king has started a blog highlighting musical happenings he thinks are worthy of your attention. Of course there is plenty of material from the world of mash-ups and bastard pop, from downloadable mp3s to Youtube mash-up videos.
3) Mutter to yourself, "Just who the fuck does Disco Shawn think he is? It's only a blog! Who cares if he stops writing down his pithy observations for ten days?"
All three options are totally acceptable ways to pass the time. Hasta luego.
