Nevertheless, the notion that foreigners are not having a serious effect on the housing market is naive. Even if the foreign purchasing numbers are low, how many Argentinians are buying property solely for use as a tourist rental? And regardless of what the numbers say, the perception that foreigners are buying up property is a powerful one and certainly helps to shape PorteƱo attitudes and actions.Disco Shawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11075681653589200997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466350633522517538.post-1174653559876856732007-10-28T09:18:00.000-03:002007-10-28T09:18:00.000-03:002007-10-28T09:18:00.000-03:00Sorry but the idea that foreigners are the ones dr...Sorry but the idea that foreigners are the ones driving the building and real estate boom is completely unfounded, and a myth that's only encouraged by word of mouth and posts like these! Stop listening to your taxi drivers! They are not the source of truth -- if you go to the government websites, or start reading any of the real estate news in La Nacion, you'll soon find out that this is yet another myth about the influence of foreigners on the economy in BA. Foreign purchases only account for between 1 and 3% of all purchases taking place in Capital.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
